Welcome to Life in the Petree Dish

Hi! I’m Denise Petree, CEO (AKA mom) of Life in the Petree Dish.

Like you, I wear many hats. I’m a mother, daughter, sister, caregiver, business owner, writer, speaker, volunteer, life coach and the head of my home. Even as I listed all the descriptions that make me the person that I am and becoming just scratches the surface.

Two years ago the heart of my life went to heaven. My mom Irene Mary Kelly was a true unsung hero. That’s why it became important to me that I remember all of the lessons she taught me since birth until the day she left this world. All the dinners, her special recipes for cookies, brownies, keeps, every memory of her I want tattooed in my brain. This blog/website is in her memory. It's also dedicated to my seven kids who are my Board of Directors (photo below). But most importantly this website is devoted to you...the reader. It is my fervent belief that we can heal each other by x.x.x.x.x.x.x.

Family has always been my number one priority after God. In today’s society our culture encourages being busy, hustling, be all, do all, respond quickly. No wonder people are feeling burned out, suffering from anxiety and many other physical and mental health issues

Over the past four years I have had the honor and privilege to work along side my dad and manage a cemetery. Meeting families in one of the most challenging and difficult times of their lives has been eye-opening. I have heard beautiful love stories, stories of success and triumph, nostalgic stories and stories of regret and despair. I have help mothers who weep from losing a child to suicide and celebrated with families who are relieved their loved one is no longer suffering. These experiences along with my own personal loss has deeply transformed me.

It has made me more passionate about my familly’s overall mental, physical, spiritual, emotional and financial health. A healthy family and home starts with me!

Twenty years ago, I had a dream of opening up a wellness center for families in my town. I’ve had a few detours along the way. It occurred to me I can do the same on-line without brick or mortar.

So, welcome to Life in the Petree Dish where we celebrate life every day
